A Special Kite Festival was launched at Bait Al-Liqa' center for special needs on Saturday 6th May, 2017 in presence of Prof. Nabil Ayoub, AUM president, Prof. Monther Al-Nimri, dean of student affairs as well as AUM Students and staff members.
This special day started by a visit to the various facilities of the center, where Guests were briefed about the services provided by the center for more than 250 students with special needs. Afterwards, the children welcomed AUM professors and students with a nice song.
In his speech, Prof. Ayoub greeted AUM students for their efforts in constructing and selling 286 kites during the last 6 weeks, where they donated the amount collected to the center. He also emphasized that AUM mission lies in supporting students who can influence and help their local society and country without looking at the self-interest.
While Prof. Al-Nimri, in his speech, he thanked "Bait Al-Liqa " staff members for their efforts and their service toward the needy children, and promised for future support and cooperation.
The festival was then continued by flying kites in groups, and finally every child was given a kite of his choice.
It is worth mentioning that Beit Al-Liqa center was founded in 2006 in Madaba, by the Italian Association SERMIG. This center aims to help children with special needs, without regard to their gender, race, color or religion, where the center offers them special medical treatment, and teaches them some basic skills as well as teaching them drawing, music, dance and mosaic production.
