AUM and Central Bank of Jordan Discuss Expanding Strategic Partnership
Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the American University of Madaba and University President Meet the Governor of the Central Bank of Jordan to Discuss Strengthening Strategic Cooperation
The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the American University of Madaba, Eng. Azzam Shweihat, accompanied by the University President, Prof. Adi Arida, and Dr. Adli Qandah, Member of the Board of Trustees, met on Thursday, July 30, 2026, with the Governor of the Central Bank of Jordan, H.E. Dr. Adel Al-Sharkas. The meeting was held as part of the University's commitment to strengthening its strategic partnerships with national institutions and exploring opportunities to enhance cooperation between the two sides.
Representing the Central Bank of Jordan were the Deputy Governor, H.E. Dr. Khaldoun Washah; the Executive Director of the Research Department, Dr. Nidal Al-Azzam; and a team from the Research Department. Representing the University were Prof. Mohammad Al-Awamleh, Dean of the Faculty of Business; Dr. Mohammad Bani Taha, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology; and Dr. Sahar Qaqeesh of the Risk Management Department, Faculty of Business.
During the meeting, the participants reviewed the current status of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two institutions and discussed ways to further strengthen the strategic partnership between the academic and financial sectors. They also discussed a number of future joint initiatives in the areas of financial literacy, innovation, and the advancement of higher education, with the aim of building a sustainable partnership that serves the community.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation between the American University of Madaba and the Central Bank of Jordan in ways that will benefit students, support scientific research and innovation, and contribute to sustainable economic development in Jordan.
